Mother Earth Hydroton Original Expanded Clay, 50 Liters

Hydroton Original is an expanded-clay medium for supporting plants in an appropriately designed hydroponic system. This selection is the 50-liter Original bag, with the manufacturer's 8–16 mm particle specification, rather than the larger-particle Giant variant. That difference matters in a small net pot: the spaces around a starter plug and the openings in the basket need to work with the actual pebbles you buy. The material's main purchase appeal is a reusable physical support that can be separated from a finished crop and cleaned. Reuse still requires labor, and a large bag only makes sense if you have enough sites or a realistic plan for later crops. Do not interpret the volume of clay as the volume of nutrient solution it can supply to roots. The irrigation method and position of the young roots remain part of the design. Before filling every basket, rinse a small working batch, fit one starter plug, and inspect whether the plant is supported without being forced down into the reservoir. Choose this bag for repeated sites or larger medium needs, with storage space for clean unused material.
