Burpee's eight-cell SuperSeed tray is a compact alternative to its larger seed-starting flats. The flexible silicone cells are designed to let you push a rooted plug upward instead of pulling a seedling by its stem. Molded corner slots provide drainage into the watering tray, whose channels and raised rim help collect excess water. The manufacturer lists a 5¼-by-11-inch footprint on its current product page and includes alphanumeric row identification with a Plant-o-Gram record. That makes it suitable for a small, labeled trial of herbs or vegetable transplants, provided the windowsill also supplies adequate light or has suitable supplemental lighting. Eight extra-large cells are still an early growing stage: monitor roots and pot on when needed. Choose this model when a modest batch and easy plug access are priorities, not because a windowsill-shaped tray guarantees healthy seedlings in every window.
